Erich Gonzales is ABS-CBN's "Katorse"

Star Circle grand questor and Star Magic talent Erich Gonzales will star in the TV remake of the sexy film 'Katorse'.

Show in the early 80's, Katorse became the launching vehicle of Ms. Dina Bonnevie in full stardom. Katorse is known for the trademark "magic kamison" wherein the usually young lead star of Lily Monteverde's Regal Films dons a sexy top which would look even sexier when the star goes for a swim and eventually possessed a wet look.

Katorse will also be the first starring role of Erich although we will not be expecting the TV adaptation to be as daring as the movie version.

Slated on a Sunday afternoon timeslot via ABS-CBN's Your Song Presents, Katorse will also star Xian Lim and PBB Teen edition grand winner Ejay Falcon.

This is his group which surrounds him 24 hours a day from the Philippines to America. GMA News and Public Affairs gets to know the individuals constituting Manny's group, more popularly known as Team Pacquiao.

In Los Angeles, California, the People's Champ is training intensively under veteran trainer Freddie Roach. While undoubtedly, Manny is a born boxer, many wonder if he would have reached the top echelon of boxing without Roach. However, for the coming Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight, there is a noticeable change in Roach's training regimen, one not welcome to other members of Team Pacquiao, including Manny himself. Would this change be for the better, or for the worse?

Meanwhile, get to know other members of Team Pacquiao who also made a fortune because of Manny's successincluding his best friend, Buboy Fernandez and his cook, Nonoy Neri who now have numerous properties here in the Philippines. However, both of them have the same thing to say: not everyone behind Manny serves him with honesty, as many of them actually are only interested in his money. Discover the intrigues and conflicts hounding Team Pacquiao.

While the Pacman is almost legendary inside the ring, he also excels outside it. This is no more evident than the people he has chosen to handle his money and business. These people are one in saying that Manny is a good businessman. But who really is in control of Pacquiao's wealth and financial ventures?

Also get to know the two important women in Manny's life: Aling Dionisia and Jinkee Pacquiao. They will reveal how their lives changed and how they cope with Manny's growing wealth and stardom.

Piolo Pascual's "Manila" to be Screened in 2009 Cannes Film Festival

The lineup of the 62nd edition of the Cannes Film Festival was announced on April 23. And one of the six films chosen to have a special screening in Cannes is Pinoy independent film 'Manila'.

Manila is a twin-bill film produced and starred by Philippine's hottest star Piolo Pascual. Piolo appears in the two episodes inspired by Ishmael Bernal's 1980 movie Manila By Night and by Lino Brocka's 1979 film Jaguar (slang for security guard). Manila also stars Rosanna Roces who plays Piolo's mother in the film. This film was directed by Adolfo Alix Jr.

Two other Filipino films have entered the prestigious list. One of which is Brillante "Dante" Mendoza's 'Kinatay (the Execution of P)'. Kinatay is one of 20 films chosen to compete in the prestigious Palme dOr (Golden Palm) competition. Other movies are Inglourious Basterds directed by Quentin Tarantino and Taking Woodstock directed by Ang Lee. Brad Pitt will topbill Tarantino's World War II action film. Taking Woodstock is a comedy based on the legendary three-day concert that took place in the '60s.

Previously titled Chop Chop, this film is based on victims whose body parts have been chopped off and mutilated by killers.

The film stars Mendoza regulars Coco Martin and Julio Diaz. They are joined by John Regala, Jhong Hilario, Lauren Novero, Benjie Filomeno and Maria Isabel Lopez.

It also features special roles by Alan Paule, Susan Africa, Ping Medina, Lou Veloso, directors Mark Meily and Jim Libiran, broadcaster Arlyn dela Cruz and Mercedes Cabral (who is appearing in another Cannes entry Thirst from South Korea). Mayor Ben Hur Abalos of Mandaluyong also appears as himself.

This is Dantes third consecutive Cannes appearance. In 2007, his Foster Child was in the Directors Fortnight. And his Serbis was among last year's finalists for the prestigious Palme dOr.

Aside from Manila and Kinatay, Raya Martins family drama set in the early 1900s titled 'Independencia' will have its world premiere in Cannes. This is Martins second film in Cannes after last years Now Showing which was shown in the Directors Fortnight section.

Independencia is one of 20 films included in the section called Prix Un Certain Regard, which is dedicated to "young talent, innovative and audacious works." Independencia was produced using a 120,000-euro (P7 million) grant from the French government called Fonds Sud Cinema. This period film tells the story of a mother and son who run off to the mountains during the American occupation.

Independencia stars Sid Lucero, Alessandra de Rossi and Tetchie Agbayani.

The 62nd Cannes Film Festival will run from May 13 to 24, 2009. The winner of the highly coveted Palme dOr, which is a prelude to the Oscars, will be announced on the 24th.

Marian Rivera is GMA-7's New Darna

Its official! GMA-7 finally announced the TV comeback of Darna - the Pinay Superhero made in comics by famous Pinoy author Mars Ravelo.

And who best fit to play the new Darna? Marian Rivera.

Yes, Marian Rivera will play the new Darna. And these announcement was made by GMA-7 SVP for Entertainment Wilma Galvante this afternoon,April 23, at the 7th floor of GMA Network Center.

The announcement was witnessed by Marian itself, GMA Films President Ms. Annette Gozon-Abrogar; Ms. Lilybeth Rasonable and Ms. Marivin Arayata of GMA-7 and Mars Ravelo's son and daughter Zaldy and Ruby Austria.

Marian Rivera was surprised and delighted by the news, "Hindi ko ito alam. Akala ko may pag-uusapan lang na new project. Yun pala, may surprise sila sa akin. Maraming salamat sa GMA-7 at patuloy ang tiwala nila sa akin."

But contrary to their previous press released, Captain Barbell will no longer be part of these new fantaseries on a major role but only as a guest character.

In 2005, GMA-7 first brought Darna to Philippine television and became the launching project of former Kapuso star Angel Locsin in full stardom. Now that Angel is a major artist of Kapamilya network, GMA management unanimously decided to award the role to their current prized possesion - Marian Rivera.

No announcement yet on who will play as Darna's young brother Ding and the Pinay superhero's love interest in her TV comeback.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Split-up

Brad Pitt moves out of Angelina Jolie's life according to In Touch Weekly!

Behind the scenes, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are having serious problems. But youd never know it, considering how loving and affectionate they are when they appear at red carpet events together all over the world. "Sure, they look happy in photos," a family friend tells In Touch. "They are actors and can turn it on for the cameras most of the time." But as theyve added kids to the family, their problems have gradually gotten worse. And theyre increasingly having a harder time always putting on a happy face in public. "The cracks in their relationship are getting deeper and deeper," says the family friend.

Especially tired of Angelinas selfish behavior, Brad stormed out of their rented mansion on Long Island, NY, just before Easter, after the couple got into a big argument. "He told her very clearly that he just cant live with her anymore," a friend tells In Touch. "He said it was over. He was like, 'Im outta here,' and left." Then on April 9, Brad flew to their $70 million estate, Chateau Miraval, in France, and packed his belongings. "He said he was there to check on renovations," a local tells In Touch. "But he was really picking out personal items and pieces of art he wanted removed from the property."

"Papa I'm so so sorry. Gustong gusto ko pang magsabi sayo ng totoo pero hindi ko po alam kung paano ko uumpisahan. Sobrang takot na takot po ako. Umalis po muna ako, kase hindi ko po kaya at nahihiya po akong humarap. Sana po mapatawad mo po ako Papa. Sorry sorry Papa."

But Ted is in doubt if the suicide note truly came from his wife Trinidad.

Ted (Mario Teodoro Failon Etong in real life) also sent the following statement to media:

"Hindi ko na tinapos ang aking programa sa DZMM kaninang umaga matapos kong makausap ang aking asawa sa telepono. Kaya umuwi ako kaagad at natagpuan kong nakakandado ang pinto ng banyo. Pinabuksan ko ang pinto at natagpuan ko ang aking asawa na duguan kung kaya't itinakbo ko siya agad sa ospital."
